Spiders Out of Time, Out of Playoffs Tuesday, September 18th , 1990 Any small glimmer of hope that the San Francisco Spiders might have had that they could make a miracle turnaround and win their way into relevancy has been extinguished. The team was mathematically eliminated from playoff contention today. San Francisco last appeared in the postseason in 1986. This is their 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 23 times in their 28-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Spiders have missed the playoffs 8 times. |
