Bream and Johnson Swapped Friday, November 16th , 1990 In an effort to add some depth to its roster, the Denver 14ers have swapped 30-year old 1B Sid Bream, 32-year old minor league RHP DeWayne Buice, 23-year old minor league 3B Scott Coolbaugh, 29-year old minor league LF Mike Marshall, and 24-year old minor league RHP Anthony Telford to the Chicago Colts for 26-year old CF Lance Johnson. The 14ers GM told reporters, "We saw a chance to upgrade our ball club and took it." In his 220-game career Johnson has tagged 208 hits with 25 doubles, 5 triples and 9 home runs. His lifetime batting average is .277 with 78 RBIs and 106 runs scored. |
