Buzzards Sneak By Whalers, 3-2

Hartford got a valiant performance from pitcher Jason Brown, but it wasn't enough to beat the Death Valley Buzzards. Death Valley won the game, 3-2. Brown threw 8.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. The Buzzards move to 64-54 with the win, while the Whalers drop to 59-59.
Runs were few and far between in this one. So, Raúl Salazar's at-bat with one out in the top of the ninth was crucial. The Death Valley shortstop hit a sacrifice fly, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Death Valley skipper Brennan Baker.
