Austin center fielder Bob Jones had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Brooklyn Bats, 6-4. Donovan Straughan picked up the win, improving his season record to 16-9. He struck out 3 in 5 innings. Charles Parsons earned the save, his 37th, for the BigStars.

Jones had a key at-bat for Austin early in the game. With the bases loaded, he hit a grand slam home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and gave Austin an early 5-1 lead.

"We'll just keep our nose to the grindstone," Jones told the Austin Herald.

The triumph puts Austin at 92-66 for the season.
