The El Paso Destroyers clubhouse was filled with glee and celebration tonight, while the New Hampshire Fisher Cats room was filled with despair and sadness after the Round 1 concluded.

"Someone's got to win and someone's got to lose, we're just glad we're on the good end of it tonight and can enjoy this," said Steele Walker, who was named MVP for a strong series of offensive performance.

El Paso won the final game by a 4-3 count at El Paso Grounds and the series 4-1.

New Hampshire manager Pat Bailey was simple and to-the-point in his assessment of the series.

"They were the better team and deserve to move on," he said.

For the series, Walker hit .353 with a .353 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, drove in 2 RBI and scored 0 runs.

The El Paso Destroyers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp - Montgomery Biscuits series. Jacksonville leads the series 3 games to 1. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
