Goldschmidt Hits 3 home runs in Mets Win
|
The New York Mets defeated the Toronto Blue Pirates, 11-6. Doing his part was first baseman Paul Goldschmidt, who hit 3 home runs, while adding 8 RBI and scoring three times. The victory gives New York a record of 72-48.
With New York leading 1-0 in the bottom of the second, Goldschmidt hit a fastball from John Means for a grand slam home run. It was his 33rd home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 5-0.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jeff LeRoux.
