Twins Edge Past Giants, 4-3
|
Starting pitcher Jose Urquidy pitched well enough to help the Minnesota Twins beat the San Francisco Giants, 4-3. Minnesota is still hoping to get on a roll. The win is just their 6th in 21 games.
The game was at a stalemate until third baseman Elehuris Montero came to bat in the top of the tenth. Facing San Francisco pitcher Josh Hader, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Minnesota on top, 4-3.
"It was terrific getting this win," Montero said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
