Hit Parade: Duran Gets Cycle
Ezequiel Duran did everything he could for the El Paso Chihuahuas today -- literally.

The 25-year-old third baseman hit a single, a double, a triple and a home run for the Chihuahuas, going for the cycle and helping them get past the Round Rock Express, 9-8, at Southwest University park.

"Yeah, I was some kind of hitter in this game," Duran reflected later. "It was like all I had to do was close my eyes and swing the bat."

In a game headed for the record books, Duran banged out 4 hits in 5 at-bats and totaled 5 runs batted in and 2 runs scored. Speaking with the press about the feat, he attributed it to "a lot of luck."

"A triple is so hard to hit," he said. "To just decide to get one in a game when you need it for a cycle, it's impossible. Usually something weird has to happen, the ball kicking past an outfielder or somebody falling down. There's a ton of luck in hitting for a cycle."

Ezequiel Duran struck out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, hit a two-run double in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Herget in the 9th.

Duran is presently hitting at a .295 pace with 5 home runs, 16 RBIs and has scored 12 times.
