Nationals Trip Phillies, 10-8, in Extra Innings
Getting offensive support from Willson Contreras, the Washington Nationals topped the Philadelphia Phillies, 10-8. Contreras belted 3 home runs, while adding 6 RBI and scoring three times for the Nationals. Washington reliever Will Klein picked up the win, upping his record to 7-4. Michael King shouldered the loss. Tylor Megill was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 1 of 1 save opportunities.

Contreras had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a 1-1 fastball from Jose Quintana, he banged a 3-run home run to left, giving the Nationals a 10-7 lead. It was the 27th home run of the year for Contreras.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Contreras.

At 63-80, Washington is in second place in the American League Mid-Atlantic Division.
