Philadelphia Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
|
Philadelphia left fielder Bryan Reynolds helped his team beat the Cincinnati Reds, 8-7. Reynolds, who led the NL in extra base hits with 76 in 2022, went 4 for 5 for the Phillies. Reliever Devin Williams picked up the win. His record improves to 6-4. Matt Strahm took the loss. The American League Mid-Atlantic Division-leading Phillies have a record of 84-65.
Philadelphia won the game in the bottom of the 12th inning. With no outs and Matt Strahm on the mound for Cincinnati, right fielder Dylan Carlson hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Phillies fans to their feet.
"It's great when the crowd is energized," Reynolds said.
