Cubs Top Giants, 4-3
|
The Chicago Cubs topped the San Francisco Giants by the score of 4-3, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Brett Baty. Baty was 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Cubs on the day. Chicago reliever Jose Leclerc picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Tanner Scott took the loss. The Cubs raised their record to 20-31.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Baty hit a slider from Tanner Scott for a run-scoring single. The Cubs, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"It's great to see the crowd jacked up," Baty said.
