Pirates Trade Brosseau to Yankees for Murphy Wednesday, May 1st , 2024 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Pirates announced today the acquisition of 33-year old C Tom Murphy from the New York Yankees in exchange for 30-year old minor league 3B Mike Brosseau. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Pirates, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." His lifetime stats show Brosseau has batted .229 and collected 120 hits, 21 home runs and 62 RBIs. So far this year Murphy is batting .083 with no home runs, 0 RBIs and 4 runs scored. |
