Pittsburgh, Detroit Swap Players Monday, May 6th , 2024 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Pirates announced today the acquisition of 35-year old minor league RHP Craig Kimbrel and 27-year old minor league RHP Caleb Sampen from the Detroit Tigers in exchange for 23-year old minor league CF Kristian Robinson and 26-year old minor league 2B Vidal Brujan. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Pirates, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Pittsburgh will retain a portion of Brujan's remaining contract. Brujan is batting .208 lifetime with 126 hits, 28 doubles, 12 triples, 9 home runs, and 48 RBIs to date. He has also scored 77 runs. |
