Cubs-Brewers Deal: Anderson for Cannon Sunday, May 12th , 2024 Proving the old adage that one man's trash is another man's treasure, the Cubs announced today the acquisition of 28-year old RF Edward Olivares, 22-year old minor league C Jesus Rodriguez, 26-year old minor league 2B Rafael Lantigua, 22-year old minor league RHP Sem Robberse, 26-year old 1B Juan Yepez, 23-year old minor league RHP Jonathan Cannon, and 30-year old RHP Jose Leclerc from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for 30-year old 2B Tim Anderson, 32-year old RF Randal Grichuk, 25-year old minor league 3B Brett Harris, and 30-year old minor league RHP Joel Payamps. "This isn't the deal of the century," acknowledged the Cubs, "but we think it will improve the direction of both teams." Chicago will retain a portion of Anderson's remaining contract. Chicago will retain a portion of Grichuk's remaining contract. To date, Anderson has collected 31 hits for a .201 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 22 runs and driven in 11 runs. |
