Hit Parade: Leon Pops 5 Hits Monday, April 22nd , 2024 Memphis center fielder Pedro Leon went down swinging at Leopards Field today, knocking out 5 hits even as his Leopards fell, 4-3. "It was like I was hitting Little League pitching," Leon said after his 5-for-5 performance against the Nashville Sounds. "No offense meant to Nashville, but it was like I was back in little league again -- I could see the ball that well." After the game, his manager elaborated on the center fielder's improvements, saying Leon spent the offseason trying to shorten his swing and stay inside the ball. "That's what I'm trying to do," Leon agreed. "Be quick to the ball and let it travel a little farther so I get a better look at it."
