Canario of Rochester Crowned Best Player Monday, May 6th , 2024 Alexander Canario must have thought he was in seventh heaven this week. First he went on a sensational hitting spree, belting the ball at a .615 pace, then the Rochester right fielder finds out he has been selected the top performer and gets the International League Player of the Week Award. Asked what his hitting philosophy was, Canario quipped to the BNN reporters, "Well, my theory of hitting is to just watch the ball as it comes in and hit it." It was a good week's work for Canario. He hit .615 average (8-for-13) with 1 home run and 2 RBIs. This season Canario has hit at a .378 clip and produced 10 runs batted in, 2 home runs and 8 runs. |
