Chavis Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Saturday, August 5th , 2023 Reading first baseman Michael Chavis keeps on racking up hits every time he plays. His hitting streak now stands at 20 games after collecting 1 hit at Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville today. The Fightin Phils took the 5-3 victory over the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp. "I have been seeing the ball really good the last few weeks, but I am a bit surprised how things are working out," Chavis said. "I've gotten a couple flares to drop in, so I've also been a little lucky." Michael Chavis grounded out in the 2nd, struck out in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and singled in the 10th. This season Chavis is batting .297 with 75 RBIs, 47 runs scored and 20 home runs. |
