Marcano Has 20-Game Hitting Streak Sunday, May 26th , 2024 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Tucupita Marcano did it again, bashing 3 hits in the contest at El Paso Grounds today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 24-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the El Paso Destroyers beat the Springfield Cardinals 3-2 today. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Marcano told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the El Paso clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Tucupita Marcano hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and struck out in the 7th. This season Marcano has 2 home runs and a .325 batting average. |
