31-Game Hitting Streak for Veen Saturday, June 1st , 2024 Win or lose, Zac Veen just keeps on getting base hits -- game after game after game. He picked up 1 more today and has now stretched his hitting streak to 31 games. The Springfield Cardinals right fielder went 1-for-5 today, but it wasn't enough to win the game. His club was defeated 9-6 by the Detroit Sea Turtles at Hammons Field. "It's amazing to watch him hit right now, but I don't think anybody's really mentioning it," one of his teammates said. "We just don't want to jinx him." Zac Veen doubled in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, grounded out in the 6th, struck out in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and walked in the 11th. Thus far this year Veen has hit .338 with 1 home run and 17 RBIs. |
