Blue Jays Danis Correa Will Miss Season

Doctors in Dunedin said Danis Correa might not play anymore this year. The Blue Jays reliever suffered a torn flexor tendon in his elbow during a game against the Tampa Tarpons and will be out for at least 9 months. Club officials told BNN they do not expect him to return to the team this season.
To date, Correa has collected no saves in 9 relief appearances. He has rung up 16 strikeouts and 5 walks in 12.1 innings while registering a 4.38 ERA and a 1-0 won-lost record.

Tampa Mathematically Eliminated from Playoffs

In the middle of a disastrous season, it would be understandable if Tampa Tarpons fans had already started to turn their attention to next year. Doubly so as of today, as the Tarpons have now been officially eliminated from playoff contention.
In their 4 seasons in High-A, the Tarpons have still yet to qualify for the playoffs.

Streak Finally Over, Morel Held Hitless

After 21 games, Christopher Morel had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the Fort Myers Miracle at Hammond Stadium. The Frederick Keys shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt.
Despite the tough day at the plate, Morel seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Keys taking a 6-0 victory from the Miracle.
"It was good while it lasted," Morel said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory."
On the year Morel is hitting .285 with 95 hits, 22 home runs, 77 RBIs, .364 OBP and has scored 62 runs.
