That's exactly what Elly De La Cruz did today at Roger Dean Stadium, going deep three times and carrying his team to victory, 10-4. "It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," De La Cruz said. "Good things happen, when that happens." The Stockton Ports third baseman blistered the Jupiter Hammerheads for 3 hits, batted in 5 runs and scored 3 times. "It ain't like we weren't trying," Jupiter manager Josh Paulson said. "He was hot and really torched my boys today." Elly De La Cruz struck out in the 1st, struck out in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Brendan Murphy in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Brendan Murphy in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Trevor Megill in the 9th. Presently De La Cruz is hitting .289 with 11 home runs and 29 RBIs. He has played in 41 games and scored 29 times. |
