Hours after speaking to the press about his 20-game hitting streak, Tampa center fielder Jonah Cox went hitless in 4 at-bats today at George M. Steinbrenner Field. The sudden hitting drought came as the Tarpons took the 1-0 win over the Fort Wayne Tin Caps. "Nope, it's not magic," Cox said in his postgame press conference. "Nobody jinxed me. Streaks don't last forever. I've heard about it every day for weeks now. My roomie told me to get a hit before every game and wished me luck. I just ran out of hits." This year Cox is batting .337 with 4 home runs. |
