Koperniak Smacks 5 Hits for Hot Rods Tuesday, May 7th , 2024 It was a big day for Matt Koperniak and he brought the Bowling Green Hot Rods along for the ride. Koperniak led his club to a 8-1 victory over the Lexington Slammers today at Mad Dogs Ballpark, smoking Lexington pitching for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. The 26-year-old right fielder later called the victory "sweet." Matt Koperniak doubled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. For the year Koperniak is hitting .404 with no home runs.
