Injury Sidelines Stankiewicz for Season Sunday, June 4th , 2023 John Stankiewicz has to call it a season. The San Francisco (AZL) Giants starting pitcher learned today that the full extent his injury suffered on 06/03/2023 is worse than hoped. He will not play again this year according to club doctors, who diagnosed the injury as a torn back muscle and stated that he would not be able to play for 4-5 months. The team will likely place Stankiewicz on the injured list today. Stankiewicz has made 9 starts this season, posting 4 wins and 2 losses.
