Garcia Sensational, 5-for-5 Sunday, August 13th , 2023 There aren't many who could be pro ballplayers and there are even fewer who could put up 5 hits in a day. Eduardo Garcia is one of those rare few, as he went 5-for-5 against the Philadelphia (GCL) Phillies at Field of the Pipeliners today. The monster effort from the 21-year-old shortstop helped the Miami (GCL) Marlins take the win, 16-5. "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it," said Phillies manager Casey Fossum. "That's the game, though. Don't make mistakes and you'll win ballgames. Make mistakes and, well, you saw what happened today." Eduardo Garcia doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th and doubled in the 8th. For the season Garcia has hit .309 with 8 home runs and 23 RBIs.
