Voyagers Advance to Round 2
Pioneer League fans were certainly not disappointed with this Pioneer League Round 1.

The two teams were evenly matched and the series went to the final game, with the Great Falls Voyagers prevailing over the Butte Copper Kings to advance to the Round 2.

Great Falls won the final game by a score of 3-1 at Legion Field and that sealed the series 4-3.

"Things were tense in our clubhouse and dugout before and during this game, but we can let loose a bit now -- the hard work is over, for now," said second baseman Luis Esparsa, who earned MVP honors.

For the series, Esparsa hit .385 with a .515 on-base percentage. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Great Falls Voyagers will play against the Medicine Hat Blue Jays in the next round. Medicine Hat won their series against the Magic Valley Magicians 4 games to 3. The Round 2 schedule will be announced after the Round 1 finishes.
