Water Wolves Sweep Round 2
Saturday, September 20th , 1997
The Williston Water Wolves rolled over the Medicine Hat Blue Jays 8-7 at Williston Park to easily win the 1997 Round 2 crown.

Williston won in a walk and swept the series from the Blue Jays 4-0. It was their 5th championship title.

Winning manager praised his own club as well as the opposition, calling the Blue Jays "a fine team."

"It wasn't as easy as it looked. We had to play good baseball to beat them," he said. "We always seemed to come up with the key hit at the right time and to make the plays on defense when we had to. That's how you win the Round 2."

The Water Wolves took second place in the Pioneer League Spring Division and rounded out the year with a 40-30 record.
