2026 – Milestones & Records so far

  • Legendary Dallas Devils starter Keith Bush should reach 1,000 career strikeouts in his next start (998). His teammate Chris House is the only other CBA hurler that has amassed over 800 (803).
  • Brooklyn Bulldog Antonio Avila is the CBA career leader in plunking hitters…by a vast margin. He has 116 HBP over 117 starts. The next closest beanballer is Arizona Thunderbird Chad Smith, with 80 over his 77 appearances (74 starts). Avila’s intimidation clearly works in his favor, as he has thrown a no-hitter and a pair of one-hitters amongst his six career shutouts.
  • Midwest Plainsmen mainstay Jamie “Machine” Malchow became the first CBA batter with 800 hits with a 7th inning double against the Bay Area Pandas on May 6. Miami Warriors LF Miguel “Milk Steak” Gallegos looks to join him soon as he sits at 771. Additionally, Malchow is the Association’s all-time leader in triples (39) and Gallegos recently became the 19th member of the 100 Homer Club.
  • Last month, Free-swinging LF and former Coke Blak Surge winner Josh “Woodcock” Johnson of the Mexico City Chupacabras, at just 26 years old, became the first CBA batter with 500 whiffs (506). The New York Roar’s Shaun Sherman (498), and Cincinnati Royal Taylor “Scorchin’” Storch (497) should be next.
  • Florida Giants 3B Jonathan Broyles holds the franchise’s top three single season SB totals (35, 30, 25) and 12 this year give him another Florida top ten single season total.
  • Denver Wolves SP Zach Reed has set the franchise record for CG in a season, with four in his first six starts.
  • Carolina Aces hurler and former #1 overall pick Chris Anderson has tossed two shutouts thus far, tying him for the club’s single season and all time top spots in that category.
  • If the season ended today, Bay Area Pandas ace Tyler Shinkle’s 2026 WAR of 1.8 would rank in the franchise’s top ten showings all time by a pitcher. He’s on pace to break his own team record, which he set last year (6.0). His 3 CGs this year are also in the Bay Area career top ten.
