The Pawtucket Red Sox picked up a win at McCoy Stadium, courtesy of P.J. Desjardien. The right-hander helped his team stop the Louisville Bats, 1-0. Desjardien, now 3-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing no runs. Kyle Murphy sewed up the save, his 12th.
The Red Sox got a big at-bat from center fielder John Miller. For the game, Miller went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Pawtucket a 1-0 lead.
"P.J. made his pitches," said Pawtucket manager Pete Rose Jr..
The win elevated the Red Sox to 27-21.
