Soto goes 4-for-5 in Red Sox Win
|
With designated hitter Júlio Soto leading the charge, the Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Indianapolis Indians, 6-3, at Victory Field. Soto, who is tied for 2nd in the IL in total bases with 113, went 4 for 5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. David Miller, the winner, improved to 5-4. He held the Indians to 3 runs on 5 hits over 8 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 1. With the win, Pawtucket raised its record to 31-29.
With Pawtucket leading 3-2 in the top of the fifth, Soto hit a fastball from Hogan Harris for a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Red Sox ahead, 6-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Soto said.
