Indianapolis rode a good effort from starter Ken Waldichuk to beat the Louisville Bats at Louisville Slugger Stadium. The final score was 2-1. Waldichuk went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 4-5. Earning his 4th save of the year was Hudson Helton.
Indianapolis relied on the hitting of Rece Hinds to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Indians on top, 2-0. For the game, Hinds had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"Enjoyed this one," Waldichuk told the Indianapolis Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
