The Chiefs got a big at-bat from designated hitter Connor Phillips. For the game, Phillips hit 2 home runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 12th home run of the season gave Syracuse a 2-1 lead.

"I just tried to make good contact," said Phillips.
