Tides Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bisons, 3-1
The Norfolk Tides went home winners at Coca-Cola Field, thanks in large part to starter Alex Early. Early stifled the Buffalo Bisons, enabling Norfolk to grab the 3-1 win. Early, now 1-0, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The loss has the Bisons at 2-1.

Norfolk used a clutch hit from Zach Watson to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Tides ahead, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Early told the Norfolk Observer.
