Late Magic Gets Toledo 4-2 Win
|
The Toledo Mud Hens topped the Durham Bulls, 4-2, with youngster Xavier Castillo playing a key role. Castillo went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Mud Hens in the win. Chris Clarke earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3.1 innings. His record is now 1-0. The loss drops Durham to 2-1.
The game was all tied up in the top of the eighth, until Castillo delivered big-time for Toledo, stroking a dramatic 2-run single off Ryan Hilinski. The game-changing hit put the Mud Hens on top, 4-2.
"It was just a matter of executing," said Toledo manager Chris Cron.
