Indians Upend Stripers, 4-2

The Indianapolis Indians got a stellar performance from pitcher Drew Nembhard, who handcuffed the Gwinnett offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Coolray Field. Nembhard, now 9-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 1 run. Cody Ponce notched his 8th save in 9 chances.
Jared Tessitore, the 22-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Tessitore contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the second inning to put Indianapolis up, 2-0.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Indianapolis manager David Macias.
The victory gives Indianapolis a record of 59-47.
