Knights Earn 4-3 Win Against Chiefs
|
In a close game at NBT Bank Stadium, the Charlotte Knights edged the Syracuse Chiefs, 4-3. Charlotte left fielder Kenny Nurre stood apart with his performance. He went 2-6 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Jayson Bishop notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record now sits at 1-0. The win elevated the Knights to 55-54.
Charlotte used the clutch hitting of Cameron Eden to capture the win. The shortstop drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 17th inning to give the Knights the lead, 4-3. For the game, Eden had 2 singles and 1 double in 7 at-bats.
"I like what I saw today," said Charlotte manager Dallas McPherson, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
