Charlotte rode a good effort from starter Ed Brown to beat the Durham Bulls at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The final score was 3-2. Brown went 5 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 8. His record improves to 6-8. Charlotte, at 61-58, occupies third place in the South.
The Knights got a big at-bat from first baseman Michael Wheeloc. For the game, Wheeloc was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the top of the first, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Charlotte a 2-0 lead.
