Mud Hens Prevail, 3-2, Over Columbus
|
The Columbus Clippers got a superb performance from pitcher Jeffrey MacIntosh. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Toledo. The Mud Hens won the game, 3-2. In spite of the loss, MacIntosh was named the player of the game. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Toledo reliever Tayler Scott got the win, raising his record to 6-7. Jeffrey MacIntosh was tagged with the loss. Harlan Carter earned his 2nd save in 2 chances.
Toledo took a 3-1 lead on Randy Deal's 3rd home run of the season. The solo home run came off Columbus pitcher Chad Brown in the bottom of the seventh.
"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Wally Backman.
The Mud Hens, now 50-71, have won 4 in a row.
