The Syracuse Chiefs weathered a fine game by Rochester designated hitter Tate Hallock to upend the Red Wings, 7-6, at Frontier Field. Hallock went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. The 4th-place Chiefs raised their record to 58-67.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Luke Waddell to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Chiefs on top, 7-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Waddell.
