Chiefs Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bisons, 3-2
The Syracuse Chiefs faced a tough opponent in Buffalo pitcher Logan Boyer, but did just enough to pull out the victory at NBT Bank Stadium by a final score of 3-2. Boyer went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs. Syracuse reliever Philip Short got the win, raising his record to 1-1. Tim Barnes was tagged with the loss. Ethan West, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.

John Lane went 1-3 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Syracuse. The 25-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 2-2 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Seth Corry. It was his 2nd RBI of the season.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Lane told the Syracuse News.

With the loss, Buffalo falls to 5-2.
