RailRiders Lose to Chiefs in Walk Off
|
The Syracuse Chiefs did just enough to secure a victory over the Scranton WB RailRiders, 2-1, at NBT Bank Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Jasseel De La Cruz. Syracuse reliever Andrew Walters picked up the win, raising his record to 1-1. Grant Holman was tagged with the loss. The Chiefs sport a record of 52-84.
Max Ferguson was the walk-off hero for Syracuse. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Chiefs center fielder hit a dramatic run-scoring double to send the teams home.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," De La Cruz said.
