Extra-Inning Walk-Off Win for Chiefs
|
The Syracuse Chiefs had to overcome a good performance from Scranton WB pitcher Ed Mitchell to claim a 2-1 win at NBT Bank Stadium. Mitchell went 6 innings and allowed no runs. Syracuse reliever Ethan West got the win, raising his record to 1-0. John Butler was tagged with the loss. With their winning streak at 4, the Chiefs have raced to a strong start this season.
The Chiefs procured the win, in large part because of shortstop Max Ferguson. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring double.
"We fed off the energy of the crowd at the end," Ferguson said.
