In the 7-6 Syracuse win over Scranton WB, the impact of Rodrigo López was substantial. López went 2-3 with 2 singles, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while adding 2 RBI. The winner was Syracuse reliever Ryder Green, now 1-0. The loser was Weston Tinkle. Ethan West picked up the save, his 3rd.
The game was all tied up in the bottom of the eighth, until López delivered big-time for Syracuse, stroking a dramatic run-scoring single off Weston Tinkle. The game-changing hit put the Chiefs on top, 7-6.
"We'll grab a cold beverage tonight and go after another win tomorrow," López said.
The RailRiders drop to 5-6 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2024 season.
