Stripers Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Indianapolis
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Indianapolis Indians and Gwinnett Stripers get after it.
Gwinnett pitcher Will Heupel did his part in helping his team beat the Indianapolis Indians, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Heupel picked up the win for Gwinnett, going 6.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-2. Jhoan Duran got credit for the save for Gwinnett. It was his 1st of the year.
The game could have flipped with one out in the top of the sixth. But Will Heupel made what his manager later called "an A-plus pitch." With runners on 1st and 2nd and Indianapolis trailing 3-0, Heupel threw a fastball to Aaron Sabato and Sabato struck out.
Gwinnett goes to 4-7.
