Stripers Hope Win Turns Around Slow Start
|
Gwinnett rode a fine outing from starter Will Heupel to victory over the Louisville Bats at Coolray Field. The final score was 5-2. Heupel went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 0, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-2. Jhoan Duran earned save number 3 this season.
In the bottom of the seventh, Gwinnett first baseman Evan Edwards hit a run-scoring single to left field. The clutch hit made it, 2-1, Stripers.
Edwards called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
Gwinnett is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 6th win in 16 games.
