Red Wings Lose By a Run at Gwinnett, 4-3
|
The Rochester Red Wings got a superb performance from pitcher Jorge Rodríguez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Gwinnett. The Stripers won the game, 4-3. Rodríguez threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. Gwinnett pitcher Will Heupel got the win. He's now 1-3. Jorge Rodríguez was tagged with the loss. Andy Rucker earned the save, his 2nd.
In the bottom of the sixth, Gwinnett first baseman CJ Alexander had a productive at-bat. With runners on 1st and 3rd and two out, Alexander stroked a run-scoring single to right. It made the score 3-2, Gwinnett. For the game, he went 1 for 3 with a walk.
"If we keep winning the close games," Alexander said, "we'll be in good shape at the end."
With their winning streak at 6, the Stripers have raced to a strong start this season.
