Red Sox Fall Short, 6-5, at Rochester

The performance of Edwin Rodgers proved critical in helping Rochester beat Pawtucket, 6-5. The Red Wings left fielder went 1-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Rochester starter Jorge Rodríguez was credited with the win after throwing 94 pitches over 7.1 innings. His record now stands at 1-2. The Red Wings raised their record to 13-17.
With Rochester leading 4-3 in the bottom of the fifth, Rodgers hit a changeup from Zack Bailey for a 2-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Red Wings ahead, 6-3.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Rodgers told the Rochester News.
