McGee Swings for the Cycle Saturday, June 22nd, 2058 John McGee did just about everything for the Washington Nationals -- except win the game. The center fielder had a cycle wasted in his club's loss to the Chicago White Sox. Despite McGee going 4-for-5 with 4 runs batted in and 1 run scored, the Nationals were defeated, 11-8. "The guys feel like they let John down," Washington manager Ryan Martin said later. "He did all anyone could ask and we couldn't hold up our end of the bargain." John McGee hit a two-run single in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Naoaki Samurakami in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and tripled in the 9th.
