Sources: Manatees Acquire Hilton Land

In a recent development outside of Miami, GM Alan Smith has confirmed the team has traded for Gold Glove 3B Hilton Land from the Fargo Brewers for SP Miguel Rodriguez and two prospects.

Alan Smith was quoted saying “a wise man told me hes the best 3b in the league and i agree with him” in reference to the recent acquisition of Hilton Land.

Hilton Land had a career year last in his age 28 season posting up 5.5 WAR with a .762 OPS and a 113 WRC+. He also won the WC Gold Glove by posting up a 14 ZR and a .981 fielding percentage. In his career, Land has amassed nearly 30 WAR in 6 seasons, quietly becoming one of the top 3B in the RLB during that span.

Miami is fresh off a franchise first World Series appearance and is eager to return back and win it this time. Land joins a lineup which scored 808 runs last year which was good for 1st in the Eastern Conference. Miami also has a highly touted hitting prospect in the works coming up in the next few seasons, so the Eastern Conference better watch out for the new Miami Manatees.
