Solís Picks up AAA East Monthly Pitching Honor

When Norfolk relief specialist Cisco Solís came into the game, it was as good as over. For his great month of May he was named the Triple-A East Pitcher of the Month.

AAA East's Top Hitter Named

For a rookie just breaking in, José Féliz certainly put together a successful month. It was good enough to win the AAA East Batter of the Month award for May.
The 27-year-old second baseman for the Iowa Cubs hit .400 with 13 home runs, 34 RBIs and 24 runs scored.
Currently Féliz is batting .310 with 52 hits and 17 home runs. He has knocked in 45 runs and scored 31 times.

Norfolk Downs Jacksonville as Smith Tosses 11-0 Shutout

Norfolk Tides pitcher Artie Smith did his job to perfection today, blanking the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp at Harbor Park. He scattered 3 hits while striking out 7 in the 11-0 shutout.
"All I did was not allow any runs," he joked after the game. "I mean, technically, that's what they pay me to do, right?"
This season to date Smith has a record of 6 wins and 1 loss with a 3.04 ERA, has appeared in 11 games and struck out 54 in 71 innings.
